Alanya Kalesi is a historic fortress located in the Alanya district of Antalya, Türkiye. Situated on a peninsula overlooking the Mediterranean Sea, this ancient site has a history dating back to the Hellenistic period. It reached its zenith in the 13th century under the Anatolian Seljuk Sultan Alaaddin Keykubat, who oversaw significant reconstruction and development. The castle features extensive fortifications, including approximately 6.5 kilometers of walls, 140 towers, and 400 cisterns. Within its grounds, remnants of the Seljuk palace offer insights into past life. The Red Tower, a prominent structure, serves as a symbol of Alanya and historically guarded the harbor. From its elevated position, the fortress provides panoramic views of the Mediterranean and the city.
